Magzhan Zhumabayev - Petropavlovsk

Petropavlovsk is a city in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the administrative center of North Kazakhstan region. Located North of the capital of Kazakhstan — Astana, and also near the border with Russia, 278 km West of Omsk and 273 km South-East of the Mound. The population of Petropavlovsk (according to census 2010) 195 thousand people. The city covers an area of 221,6 km. Petropavlovsk was built in 1972 as a military fortress of St. Peter.image
Many famous people were born in North Kazakhstan and Petropavlosk. But I want to tell you about kazakh writer, poet, publicist, teacher, one of the founders of the new Kazakh literature Magzhan Zhumabaev.

Magzhan Zhumabayev was born and grew up in a large wealthy Kazakh family.. In the family of Beken and she had 7 boys and 2 girls. Magzhan Bekenuly Zhumabayev was born on 25 June 1893 in Sassykkul Tract if Sary-Aigyr volost in Petropavlovsky uezd.

1905 to 1910 — studies in the madrasas of Petropavlovsk, where he taught Arabic, Farsi, Turkish languages.

1913-1916 — studied in Omsk teacher's Seminary, where he studied with the Saken Seifullin, graduates from a Seminary with a gold medal.

In 1923 at the invitation of the Commissar of education A. V. Lunacharsky, the poet arrives in Moscow and has taught Oriental languages at the Communist University of Oriental workers.

In 1927 Magzhan returned to Petropavlovsk and works as a teacher of the pedagogical College and in sowetskoe.
In 1929 M. Zhumabayev was arrested and sentenced to 10 years

1935, in the camp, Magzhan wrote a letter to Maxim Gorky, who helped him prematurely released from prison. In 1936, he returned to Petropavlovsk, he began working as a teacher of Russian language and Russian literature

December 30, 1937 Magzhan again arrested, and on March 19, 1938, he was executed as an "enemy of the people".
In 1988 the poet was rehabilitated completely.

His poems, tales and stories are written with acute tragic element, which expresses the feeling of responsibility for the people and appeal to sources and crucial moments in history. At the same time Magzhan accepted common to all mankind artistic and scientific heritage from Shakespeare, Pushkin, Solovyev to symbolism, technocracy and Schpengler. Popular nowadays existential motifs can be clearly seen in his creating work. After so many years of concealment we revealed Magzhan Zhumabayev anew.image image
