Alasha - Oriental restaurant in Almaty ( Review )

ZhanarZhanar 1 year - Expatriate
Alasha is one of the best restaurants in Almaty, located in the southern part of the city at Ospanov Street 20. The restaurant designed and built in traditional Uzbek style with a lot of hand carved and hand painted parts (doors, ceilings and etc).

Menu offers traditional Kazakh and Uzbek cuisine. Gorgeous lamb meat sorpa would not leave you indifferent. About twenty species of amazing kebabs will satisfy the taste of any gourmet. The guests can also choose from variety of different regional Uzbek plovs , a traditional oriental cake, samsa with a crispy golden brown, as well as order a shisha to relax after the hearty meal. Every evening, meals are accompanied by live Uzbek music and dances of oriental beauties.

Here is some of traditional kazakh dishes presented in "Alasha"

1) Kazan kauap
(lamb brisket with potatoes fried in kazan)
2) Norin
(chopped paste and horseflesh served like cold course)
Chicken with vegetables
3) Tan samal
(chicken fillet with vegetables in foil)
4) Bahor
(vegetables served up with lemon sause)

I have eaten here many times over the years & the the food always tastes as it looks, amazing. The decor is pleasant & the restaurant is clean & tidy. The food does not take long to arrive and is always well presented. I do think that it is the best restaurant for foreigners to visit.
