Head of Energy Ministry of Kazakhstan Vladimir Shkolnik 7 January 2015 signed a decree raising electricity tariffs beginning from 1 February 2015 in all regions of Kazakhstan, according to the portal neftegaz.kz.
However, the Minister did not informed on how much the tariff will grow.It is worth noting that last year the electricity prices increased by 6.2 percent in Kazakhstan. Beginning from January 1 the electricity prices in Almaty and Almaty region has been increased by 7.5%, Almaty and Almaty residents will pay 20 tenge for 1 kW of power. In Pavlodar the tariff rose by 3.5%, while in Shymkent - by 6%.
According to Vladimir Shkolnik, the tariff has been increased became of an unstable economic situation and the need for investment in infrastructure, energy networks and the construction of new facilities.Shkolnik also said that from February 2015 Kazakhstan would ban the import of Electricity Saving Box device.
